INTERACTIVE 3D WORLDS

To experience 3D interactivity, you must first download and install blaxxun Contact, a small plug-in that displays 3D content right within your web browser window. Click icon to install from the blaxxun site:

Above and below are links to real interactive 3D worlds created in 3D Studio Max and VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language.) Most of these were made for CYBERTOWN "The Sci-fi Community of the Future".

If you enjoy these worlds and wish to experience them as fully interactive chat environments with other live users, then you may also find them in Cybertown (above.)

Please be patient while loading. They are worth the wait. It helps if you have a high-speed connection and a good video card installed on your computer.

Tips on VRML world navigating: When the 3D world is completely loaded, right click the screen for the settings & preferences menu. From there, select movement style, speed, graphics settings, etc. If the option is there at the bottom, select Hardware Accelleration for best performance. Hold the left button of your mouse down and move to navigate through the 3D environment. Use page down & page up to scroll through preset viewpoints.

Once you have installed blaxxun Contact, click on any thumbnail to load the 3D world

DAYBREAK (after Maxfield Parrish)

This is a very detailed world recommended for high-bandwidth visitors only. I have often painted replicas of famous masterpieces in my traditional 2D art. I thought it would be interesting to try the same thing in virtual 3D. Here's one of the most famous 2D images of the 20th century reinterpreted as a 3D world.

RAINFOREST DISCOVERY CENTER

I co-created this world with Osman Soykut, my former colleague from Cybertown. We were contracted by Whoola, Inc. to build their flagship portal world - a virtual natural history museum set in the Amazon Rainforest.

SUNSET BEACH

After the success of the Inner Realms forest, I wanted to follow it up with another natural setting. I chose a tropical island beach resort. It has also become one of the most visited places in Cybertown.

INNER REALMS FOREST

This was the first natural-looking world in Cybertown. I created it as an educational exercise and it was selected to become the headquarters of the Inner Realms Colony in Cybertown, which is the place for people with an interest in mystical subjects. It has become a very popular destination.

THE POOL

I based the new Cybertown pool design on the Roman pool at the Hearst Castle in San Simeon, CA.

NOIR OFFICE

This black & white film noir style detective's office was made purely for my own amusement. Using more animation and sound effects than usual, I went for a more truly immersive cinemtic experience.

AVATARS

Using blaxxun Avatar Studio, I created scores of low-polygon, animated 3D humanoid characters called "Avatars" for use by Cybertown citizens. They ranged from sexy to frightening. Most were my original designs, but following are a few based on characters from popular sci-fi TV series. Following are some screen shots.
