ARTIST'S COMMENT

With so many other projects, I have done very few original paintings in recent years. When I have the time for it, I find that my taste and sensibility for what makes a worthy painting has dramatically changed. The bold, candy colors and high polish of my earlier work has been replaced by a muted palette and softened brushstokes. A simple gesture is now more important than an elaborate mythological story. This is the second painting for which my wife Freya modeled. The other is Anima Tessera, painted a few years ago when we were first married. After completing this one, I realized that both portrayed her in profile.
